How We Work

In-Home Services

We provide in-person psychological services (with some virtual services) directly in your home. We are currently visiting Toronto homes as well as homes within a 45 minute drive from Toronto. Ontario homes beyond this distance may be considered on a case-by-case basis - please reach out to inquire.

We completely understand that having a psychologist visit your home may ‘feel’ a bit different - that’s because it is! Typically we go to office buildings to see professionals in their office space. At Home Sweet Home Psychology, we believe that kids and families are most comfortable in their own homes. It also makes our services more convenient for busy families!

All that being said, welcoming a psychologist into your home is different than having a friend or houseguest over. So here are some guidelines to help everyone understand what to expect.

 What to Expect

    • Start and end on time

    • Provide necessary session materials

    • Provide professional services with client

    • Psychologist will NOT meet with a client in any bedroom or sleeping quarters of home members

    • Be home and ready at time of scheduled appointment

    • Provide quiet space in your home for the psychologist to work during the visit (no bedrooms or sleeping quarters)

    • Provide uninterrupted privacy for psychologist and client

    • Provide chairs and table with cleared workspace (for assessment sessions)

    • Provide parking within 2 minute walking distance

    • Advise of any animals in the home in advance

    • It is NOT the client’s responsibility to clean or tidy the house

    • It is NOT the client’s responsibility to provide meals/snacks for the psychologist
